Mr. Dave Ferraro

David Ferraro previously worked at East Brunswick Highschool for five years and is excited and enthusiastic to join Churchill Junior Highschool as the new Student Assistance Specialist.  Mr. Ferraro earned his master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University.  Prior to working in East Brunswick, Mr. Ferraro has 10 years of experience working in community mental health and substance abuse facilities in Ocean and Mercer County.  When working with students, Dave prefers to approach counseling from a strength-based perspective with emphasis on the student’s successes and interests.  Using positive self-regard, active listening and humor when needed allows for a more open atmosphere and environment to get to know the student and help them towards their identified goals.  Aside from working with people, other passions and interests include the arts, nature, traveling and performing music as a part time musician.
