Community Service

Community Service

Community service offers students the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to their local area through voluntary action. By dedicating time and effort to projects such as park cleanups, peer tutoring, shelter assistance, and charitable fundraising, students develop civic responsibility while actively benefiting those around them.

Students who complete community service beginning in 9th grade can have community service notated on their transcript if they complete a minimum of 15 hours.

In order to have community service notated on a student's transcripts you must:

1. Pick up the CommunityServicePacket26-27.pdf

2. Complete page 4 of the packet  (Pre-Approval Form) and submit it to your School Counselor for pre-approval of your hours BEFORE you start volunteering.

3. Complete all steps within the CommunityServicePacket26-27.pdf

The goals for the Community Service Project are:

  • Develop a sense of citizenship
  • Cultivate individual responsibility
  • Cultivate a sense of social responsibility
  • Build self-worth and self-esteem
  • Relate learning to life experience
